My Journey Into Modern Fitness Training

Hey! I’m Jason. I’ve been a personal trainer in Boston for 15 years.

In that time, I’ve worked with C-suite executives, touring musicians, film production talent, and Boston Fashion Week models… people whose schedules don’t bend and whose results need to show up on tight timelines.

My approach is built around two things most trainers skip: a real movement assessment up front, and data that actually drives the program. Every client starts with a Functional Movement Screen (FMS) to flag the imbalances, mobility limits, and weak points that cause injuries. From there, programming gets tuned to your WHOOP recovery and strain data -  so you’re not training hard on days your body isn’t ready, and you’re not coasting on days you should push.

Why I Start Every Client With FMS

Most fitness plans skip the assessment and just hand you a workout. That’s how people end up making old injuries worse or training around weaknesses they don’t know they have.

FMS is a 7-movement screen developed by physical therapists and used by the NFL (currently working with an NFL prospect*), Olympic teams, and the military. In about 15 minutes, I can see your asymmetries, mobility limits, and the movement patterns most likely to put you on a couch with ice. Then I program around them… fixing what’s weak, protecting what’s vulnerable, building a foundation that holds up at 45, 55, 65 and beyond.
  • I provide line drawings to demonstrate strengths and weaknesses, and over time, we can track visible improvements.
  • This strategy eliminates pain and drastically reduces chances of injury, which prevents future medical issues and expenses.
